Community Day 👉 Recharge Day: Why we changed our monthly day out 

Since Packfleet's earliest days, we've given our team a monthly day away from desks and screens.

We called it 'Community Day' – a set day for people across the company to do fun and varied things together, and find community among the team, without having to carve out time outside of work. 

Bike rides, West End shows, rock climbing – we did something different every month, and everyone had the opportunity to propose what they wanted to do on Community Day.

Safe to say, it was a huge success. Across our whole team we saw people create happy memories together, find shared interests that may have gone otherwise unnoticed, and build amazing energy.

Then, earlier this year we decided to give Community Day a slight rebrand to A) give more of what our team wanted and needed; and B) better reflect what the day is about.

Enter 'Recharge Day' 💪

Still a day out a month – and still giving our team the total freedom to do whatever they want to do with that day – but now with a clearer name, and not just about building community with your team but also about, you guessed it, recharging!

(And also a lovely pun given our fleet is all EVs! 💡)

Why? Because building a business from the ground-up isn't easy – certainly not one with ambitions as big as ours! And in order to get to where we want to be, we have to create a culture that values rest just as much as it does hard work. 

We're all about proactively recharging batteries – and not so much about waiting until burnout to do something about it. And what better way to relax and recharge than through something you really enjoy?
